Aprilia SR 150 Scooter Price Disclosed: Launch in August

Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited (PVPL) today announced the price of Aprilia SR 150 scooter. This brand new scooter will go on sale from next month with an introductory price of INR 65,000. Aprilia is an Italian two-wheeler manufacturer company which is owned by Piaggio group. The bookings will start shortly and will be available at Piaggio’s authorised stores.

Showcased at earlier concluded Delhi Auto Expo in February this year, the Aprilia SR 150 will be the first product from the Italian motorcycle maker and will be produced at Piaggio’s production plant in Baramati, Maharashtra.

Speaking about the Aprilia SR 150, Stefano Pelle, Managing Director and CEO, Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited (PVPL), said, “We have received a favourable response to all our launches in the country and with the launch of the Aprilia SR 150, we aim to increase our footprint across the geo. The design aesthetics of the SR 150 reflect the sporty character of the Aprilia brand with a light weight engine which creates a new category in India’s the scooter segment”.

Coming to its appearance, the new Aprilia SR 150 features a European body     structure, an edgy and contemporary body language. Having a sporty stance, it gets the large 14-inch wheels which improve its aggressiveness. The instrument cluster gets the formal analog dials for speedometer, fuel gauge, and odometer.

Considering its power and performance, no officials has been revealed by the company yet about its engine specs. However, according to some sources, the all-new Aprilia SR 150 is expected to come with the same 154.4 cc 3-valve single-cylinder, air-cooled petrol engine which also powers the currently selling Vespa 150. Mated to the CVT transmission, it is expected to produce a maximum power of 12 PS in combination with the 11 Nm of torque.

The suspension duties are handled by the telescopic at the front and monoshock unit at the rear. Whereas, it gets a 220 mm disc brakes for the front wheel and 140 mm drum brake for the rear wheel.
