2014 AIMExpo: Hero HX 250R showcased at EBR's podium

The Hero HX250R recently seen at the Erik Buell Racing's podium at American International Motorcycle Expo in Orlando, Florida. The launching of the Hero HX 250R was scheduled for the November 2014 for the Indian market, which has now been extended for the next year i.e. April 2015-March 2016. After that it will be exported to the America. It is an entry-level, fully faired sports bike, which will compete with its rivals, including Yamaha R 25, Hyosung GD250N and KTM RC 200.

The HX250R was unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, where the technical specification of the street bike was also exposed by the company. Thus, it comes equipped with a 249cc single cylinder and liquid engine that is positioned above in its sports bike portfolio, i.e Karizama ZMR.

The Dual Over Head Camshaft featuring engine is capable of delivering 31 PS of maximum power and 26 NM of peak torque, which is transmitted to the rear wheel. It comes mated to a six speed constant mesh gearbox that gives a smooth and quick shifting. Furthermore, the HX250R is equipped with Honda’s Ride Modes such as power mode and economy mode. It is featured with a fuel injected system that will give a good fuel economy without compromising the power delivering system. It also gets a dynamic power weight ratio, thanks to the wet weight of 138kg.

Apart from the technical specifications, the Hero HX250R is a fully faired sports bike that carries a front body cowl and dual headlights that gives it a stunning look. Moreover, the split seats are standard and impressive in the bike that gives an upright sitting position to the rider. The interesting thing in the bike if you noticed that, the exhaust system of the bike is located just below the pillion seat. The price of the bike will stand between the Rs 1,50,000-1,70,000.
