The 2015 model of Aprilia Tuono 1100RR has been unwrapped at the EICMA. The bike now looks bolder and better than the last version while reminding of the elder sibling RSV4. Though, the name has also been inherited by the alleged bike, since the V4 diagram can now demonstrate better power and displacement figures for the bike. The Italians know to make over their kids for the competition and the scene here can be used as the perfect example of the same where the Tuono is not an actual street fighter now.
The engine of this bike is treated wisely to enhance the power. The V4 arrangement of the engine assures the rider pushes the engine to displace 1100cc and a considerable hike in the power worth 5 units, reaching 175BHP at 11,000RPM. The torque has also found residing at a new height of 120Nm making it happen at 9,000RPM. Transmission equipment remains unchanged with 6 speed cassette type gear box arrangement.
Aprilia has tried for every single step to transform this street vehicle into a superbike. The narrower handlebar, larger fairing visor and lowered seat height are the evidence of company’s attempt to kill the street fighter appeal of this bike. The bike has also got lavish graphics.
The futuristic approach of the stated bike lies in the Aprilia Performance Ride Control (APRC). This system is a bunch of Aprilia made Wheelie Control (AWC), Traction Control (ATC) and Launch Control (ALC) which can be operated independently for the operation.
The suspensions fitted at the front end are Sach inverted adjustable units with monoshock assembly at the rear; however the top variant comes with Ohlins system. The frame is the aluminium dual beam light weight monad. Braking potential is governed by the Brembo discs and Bosch ABS apparatus. The tyre size for the front is set to be 120/70 ZR 17 and that for the rear is 200/55 ZR 17, both being tubeless.
