A website named Auto Presse has revealed images of the upcoming Mercedes E Class ahead of its debut at the 2016 Detroit Motor Show. Officially, the sedan has been displayed in a sketch along with a teaser. It will be brought as a CBU model in India and its launch will take place in late 2016. The new E Class utilises design elements from C Class and S Class. As compared to the previous version, the wheelbase is estimated to be 65 mm longer and the overall length is more by 43 mm.
Reportedly, Mercedes will offer a Maybach edition along with a long wheelbase version of the sedan for Indian and Chinese market. Discussing the cabin, it will derive cues from the S Class, thereby reducing the number of buttons on the dashboard. The instrument cluster will be found in two guises- an analog cluster with MID and a full TFT display borrowed from S Class. There will also be Mercedes COMMAND infotainment system that can be controlled with the fingertips. Further elements like HVAC vents, Artico leather upholstery and Burmester sound system will also be present inside.
