Bajaj Pulsar 200NS was a prominent naked street fighter in India. The 2017 version of the motorcycle, which is all geared to re-introduce in the Indian market, has been spied at a dealer stockyard ahead of its expected launch in the coming weeks. A pair of spy images has been surfaced online under Thrust Zone moniker.
As far as mechanicals are considered, the 2017 Bajaj Pulsar 200NS is armed with an all new 199.5 cc single cylinder, liquid-cooled triple spark engine. The shared powertrain from the faired Pulsar RS200 is good for producing 23.52 PS of maximum power at the 9,500 rpm and the peak torque of 18.3Nm at 8,000 rpm. All the generated power will be transferred to the rear wheel via a connected 6-speed gearbox transmission.
The India-bound Pulsar RS200 will continue with a carburetor injected mill in place of fuel injection. However, the global markets like Turkey and Russia will receive the fuel injected version of the engine. Both the trims will comply with the forthcoming BSIV emission norms.
While cosmetically, witnessed major changes on the new model includes all new dual-tone paint scheme, relocated Pulsar logo along with a ‘200’ sticker on the tank extension, an engine cowl and pin striping on the wheels. Moreover, the aids of advanced ABS safety feature, which was expected on this new trim, so far has not been seen in any of the spotted images.
Back in 2015, the automaker has discontinued the Pulsar 200NS, owing to make space for the newly launched Pulsar RS200 and the Pulsar AS200. But the low sales records from both the faired and adventure sports offering, make the bike maker bring back the Bajaj Pulsar 200NS in the segment to enhance the Bajaj’s market share in the 200cc segment.
On pricing end, there is no announcement from Bajaj Auto, yet the street runner is anticipated to carry the price tag under INR 1 lakh.
