2017 Hero Glamour 125cc Unleashed With i3S Technology

A few days ago, the 2017 Hero Glamour 125, a highly appreciated commuter motorcycle in the Indian market, has premiered at an event in Argentina. It is the first global product launch by the giant outside India. There, it will be sold under ‘Ignitor’ moniker. The quest for receiving global dominance has made the automaker to start its operations in Argentina. The 35th market on the Hero’s count and the increase in other markets, as the company has targeted its reach across 50 markets by 2020.

As per Mr. Pawan Munjal Chairman, Managing Director and CEO, Hero MotoCorp, “The ‘New Glamour’ – developed at our world-class, state of the art R&D campus in the India – the Centre of Innovation and Technology – has been designed keeping in mind our young customers across the globe, it has a sportier design, perfect amalgamation of power and performance, it is fuel efficient and most importantly it is a true symbol of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.”

Design & Colors:

The new Glamour 125 has not only been altered cosmetically but also figured mechanicals changes too. In terms of design, the motorcycle has received remarkable changes, now it is sharp and having crisp lines on it, which offers it a more appealing look and sportier stance. The front of the motorcycle gets a large LED headlamp with Auto Headlight On (AHO) feature fitted in an oval shaped unit, a large fuel tank with slight extensions. Whereas, the rear section continues with the similar placement of the ongoing, altogether with same side panels featuring. Wrapped in similar decals, the bike will be offered in new colour options of candy Blazing Red+Black, Black+Techno Blue, Black +Tornado Grey and Black+Sports Red. There are three other colour options for the FI variant of the new Glamour 125.

 

Power and Mileage:

Beneath the fuel tank, the forthcoming Hero Glamour will be equipped with a 125cc, air-cooled, single cylinder, OHC engine. The tuned engine assembly will exhale out 11.4 bhp (8.5 kW) of maximum power at 7500rpm and will deliver 11 Nm of peak torque at 6500 rpm to the rear wheel via the armed gearbox mechanism. Like before, new Glamour is also available in two version- carbureted injected and Fuel Injected. As claimed, the revived engine units are using i3S technology which smartly helps to reduce fuel consumption by stopping the engine in traffic conditions. So the new trims will now supply 27% more in power and 6% extra torque and the fuel economy figures are also enhanced by 3% (carb.) and 7% (FI). The new motorcycle is able to attain 0-60 km/h sprint just in 6.03 seconds (carb.) and 5.64 seconds (FI).

Chassis, Suspension, and Brakes:

Underpinning a single downtube frame, the next gen Glamour 125 is following the same suspension setup of conventional inverted forks and hydraulic adjustable rear shocks with rear shocks with 5-step adjustability. Besides regular disc brakes, it will be offered in disc brake option too. Embellished with these promising hardware components, this fresh trim of Glamour is likely to be light when its comes to kerb weight.

Launch Date and Price:

In Argentina, the launch date and price of this recently revealed Glamour 125cc is not announced yet. But it is expected to hit the market soon at the anticipated price sticker hover around Rs. 65,000. Indian market will also observe the emergence of this new version soon in coming next weeks.
