2017 Hyundai Xcent facelift Launched in India, Starting at INR 5.38 Lakh

Hyundai India today launched the facelift update of its compact sedan, the Xcent. And the design cues of the 2017 Xcent look quite inspired from the fluidic Elantra. The facelift version gets a number of styling tweaks through inside out.
Following is the list of variant wise price of 2017 facelift Hyundai Elantra (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi):

Petrol Powered Variants -
E – INR 5.38 lakhs
E+ – INR 5.93 lakhs
S – INR 6.29 lakhs
SX – INR 6.73 lakhs
SX(O) – INR 7.51 lakhs
S AT – INR 7.09 lakhs

Diesel Powered Variants -
E – INR 6.28 lakhs
E+ – INR 6.83 lakhs
S – INR 7.19 lakhs
SX – INR 7.63 lakhs
SX(O) – INR 8.41 lakhs

Starting with the part which received most noteworthy changes, the front fascia of the car has been revised thoroughly and reminds us of Elantra, as somewhere carmaker aims at giving the Xcent similar details. One can notice here a similar shaped hexagonal grill with the headlamps positioned in pull back style. The rear has also been received a completely new makeover. The side profile, however, remains identical to that of its previous model. At a quick glance, the exterior details of facelift Xcent include LED DRLs, shark fin antenna, chrome door handles, chrome garnish at the rear and wing mirrors with turn indicators.

Step inside and you will see a large 7-inch touchscreen smart infotainment display with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink connectivity. The infotainment system comes with navigation and voice recognition features. Other interior details including safety features of the car are rear power outlet, standard dual front airbags, ABS, automatic climate control, rear defogger, reverse parking sensors with camera, cooled glovebox, smart key with push-button start and leather-wrapped steering wheel.


Offered in both petrol and diesel fuel options, the 2017 Hyundai Xcent returns a class leading mileage.
The former is a 1.2-litre Kappa VTVT engine which produces maximum power of 83 PS @ 6000 RPM and a peak torque of 114 Nm at 4000 RPM. the motor is mated to either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission and returns an ARAI-certified fuel economy of 20.14 kmpl (for Manual trim) and 17.36 kmpl (for automatic version).

The diesel engine, on the other hand, is the new 1.2-litre CRDI unit which was first seen on the Grand i10, revs the maximum power of 75 PS @ 4000 RPM and 190 Nm of peak torque @ 1750-2250 RPM. The unit is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox and returns a claimed fuel efficiency of 25.4 kmpl.

In addition to these updates, the 2017 Hyundai Xcent facelift is being offered with 2 years/unlimited kilometers warranty. The new Xcent will lock the horns against the likes of segment leader Maruti Swift DZire, Ford Aspire, Honda Amaze, Tata Tigor and Volkswagen Ameo.
