Land Rover has been always in talks within the motor enthusiasts from a long time and this time again it is under the discussion for its newly launched Land Rover Discovery 2017 priced at INR 71.38 lakhs (ex-showroom India). The new 2017 Land Rover Discovery is a 7 seater SUV which is available in 5 more variants based on both petrol and diesel engine options. The line up also includes a range topper i.e. the First Edition diesel variant which is well above price mark of INR 1 crore.
One should not go through its premium distinguish as it also capable for off-road adventures by its pretty decent 900mm depth with a massive power of 3.0-litre turbo-petrol V6 engine which pushes the SUV in any terrain condition. The power output comes at 340hp and 450Nm of torque which is then transferred to all 4 tyres. While on the diesel side, the engine is a 3.0-litre V6 machine which outputs 258hp and 600Nm of thrust to all the 4 tyres. Both the engines send the power to the 4x4 SUV which is engaged with the eight-speed auto gearbox.

The Land Rover Discovery 2017 is fulfilled with all the luxury add-ons including InControl infotainment system with a 10-inch display attached to a six-speaker audio system, two sunroofs, parallel-park assist, a heads-up display, a 360-degree camera and the optional Terrain Response 2 system. The HSE variant, range topper is geared with InControl TouchPro infotainment system, heated seats, up to nine USB ports, four 12V charging points, an in-car 3G Wi-Fi hotspot and a 17-speaker Meridian audio system.
According to the pricing factor, it has been seen that the company wants to upscale the sales of petrol variants in the Indian market as the pricing chart of Discovery petrol variants clears the air on it. The base model of Discovery petrol S variant is cheaper by on an average INR 10 lakhs while the range topper \'First Edition\' is worth economical by around INR 20 lakhs.
The Land Rover Discovery 2017 is all set to lock its horns with its competitive counterparts i.e. Audi Q7, BMW X5 and the Mercedes-Benz GLE. Also, it is expected that the Land Rover will soon launch its much anticipated Velar SUV in India.
