Automobile manufacturer Skoda will launch its new model 2017 Skoda Octavia very soon in India. According to Team-BHP forum member Pickdj, dealers of Skoda across India have started bookings of the new car. The dealership referred by the forum member expects deliveries to start in 10-12 weeks, suggesting Q3 2017 market launch for the car.
In last month, Skoda revealed its first spy image of the Octavia while undergoing for the road testing in India and that too without any camouflage.
Note that, Yet the Skoda India has not officially announced the bookings of the facelift model of the car.
From the front side, the facelift model of the car will be blessed with wider radiator grille, wider air inlets with honeycomb structure, a new quad-headlight setup, sleeker horizontal fog lamps and restyled bumper. From the rear side, Skoda Octavia is modified with some changes which includes remodelled bumper, new alloy wheels, new LED tail lamps, shape light reflectors and more.
Due to the new bumpers, the dimensions of Octavia has increased by a few millimetres in length. From the rear front, the width of the car has increased by 20 or 30 mm, it depends on the engine and rear axle.
In terms of design, the Cabin of new Skoda Octavia remain unchanged. The car comes up with some changes which includes multi-function sports steering wheel, two USB ports in the rear, folding tables feature for the rear- seat passengers, larger 8-inch touchscreen display and revised instrument cluster.
From the mechanical front, engine options and transmissions choices remain unchanged. It will be available in petrol and diesel versions. Petrol version of Octavia will be coupled by a 1.8 litre TSI petrol engine which develops a power of 178 bhp and 250 Nm mated to a 7-speed DSG transmission. Diesel version of car will be powered by a 2.0 litre TDI engine and mated to a 6-speed DSG transmission. There is also an option of 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine which develops an output of 148 bhp and mated to a 6-speed manual transmissions
