The major Japanese automaker, Toyota globally unveiled the Corolla Altis facelift in July last year. First made available for the Russian market, now the carmaker has launched the premium sedan, Corolla Altis facelift in India at a starting price of INR 15.87 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The facelift version is now available across 6 different variants (in both petrol and diesel powertrains) and the range-topping trim costs INR 19.91 Lakh.

The updated mid-luxury sedan features Toyota’s latest design language and looks more upmarket than the car it replaces. Underpinning the company’s ‘Under Priority and Keen Look’ design theory, the 2017 Corolla Altis looks sharper and stylish than the outgoing model.
On the updated side, the new Corolla Altis Facelift gets a host of cosmetic updates, while the under hood powertrain remains identical to that of outgoing models with some added mechanical features.
The 2017 Corolla facelift is powered by the same mill with a new ESP (Electric Power Steering) and a revised suspension. It continues to be powered by the same a 1.8-litre petrol and a 1.4-litre diesel powertrains. The petrol unit will be paired with either a 6-Speed manual or a CVT gearbox and will churn out 140 bhp of power and 173 Nm of torque, whereas the diesel unit will be available only in 6-Speed manual transmission and will deliver 88 bhp with 205 Nm.
With the updated sets of motors, the new 2017 Corolla Altis is expected to give a slightly improved fuel mileage of up to 14 kmpl with petrol unit and 26 kmpl with diesel unit.
The noteworthy updates to the aesthetics include new LED head and taillamps, LED Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs), new front fascia (featuring new grille, redesigned bumper and hood), chrome finish door handles and 17-inch alloy wheels.
On the inside, a new upholstery and a Sat-nav touch infotainment display will be added.
On the safety front, this facelift variant comes with a Pre-Collision System (PCM), Lane Departure Alert (LDA) and Automatic High Beam (AHB), besides the currently offers, such as Airbags, ABS, EBD and Cruise Control.
Finally the much awaited update, the Corolla Altis facelift is on sale in the country from today onwards, it will take the top selling cars of the D-segment sedan such as Hyundai Elantra and Skoda octavia.
