2018 Volvo XC60 SUV Spotted in India, Launch by December 2017

Volvo’s cars India is all geared to replace its middleweight SUV, the XC60, with the 2018 year model. It is expected that the next generation XC60 will hit the Indian market by December 2017. Recently, a test mule of the model wrapped in camouflage covering has snapped in the country. If the reports and the recent testing event took into consideration it clearly hints that it could mark is the presence on the Indian roads as soon as possible.

As of now, it is being speculated that the company will bring the first lot of Volvo XC60 via CBU route. Later in future, the brand could start its assembling at its Bangalore based facility to keep the pricing of the SUV in check.

Evidently, the XC60 that was featured with the signature vertically slatted grille and Thor’s hammer headlamps at the front end, is following the design philosophy as of the XC90 and the S90. Though, the curves on the XC60 especially the rear fender shoulder are carried forward from the previous model. Also, the vertical tail lamps are as it is with modern LED touches. Moreover, the test mule was seen with 19-inch 10-spoke black diamond-cut alloys that hints there are fewer chances of 20-inch options availability in the India-spec model that is available in the global market.

As the interior of the XC60 is not revealed by the spy images, therefore, nothing can be said. Still, we can assume its interior will be in beige and black and the leather upholstery. Other than this, as the brand is notorious for offering its cars with advanced and modern features to provide luxury in terms of comfort and convenience, the XC60 will also receive the same. Also, the safety will also be up to the mark in this upcoming.

Under the hood, the 2018 Volvo XC60 is speculated to get 235bhp setup but its size makes us reconsider the 190bhp setup from the 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine. With this engine setup, the transmission duties will obviously be handled by an automatic gearbox with the all-wheel-drive system.
