2019 Hyundai Creta ‘EX’ Variant Launched - Starts At Rs 10.84 Lakh

The most popular selling SUV of India - Hyundai Creta, has accosted an update in its lineup. The new Hyundai Creta 'EX' variant is placed above the base 'E' trim and is available with a starting price of Rs 10,83,737 (petrol) and Rs 10,99,274 (diesel) (both ex-showroom, Mumbai).

Creta introduces the new entry-level E Plus variant in its lineup and the EX trim is a level higher than the base variant. Moreover, Hyundai has terminated the Creta S 1.6-diesel automatic, and now top-spec SX variant is the only diesel automatic variant left with Hyundai motors.

In addition to the launch of the new EX variant of the Creta, Hyundai has discontinued the 'E+' variant of the Hyundai Creta. The latest Hyundai Creta EX is present in both petrol (1.6-litre) and diesel (1.4-litre and 1.6-litre) variants along with some fresh and refined specifications and types of equipment. All three engine options are mated to either an automatic gearbox or a six-speed manual.

The popular Hyundai Creta SUV  Creta 'EX' exhibits a range of seven variant —E, EX, S, SX, SX Dual Tone, SX (O) and SX (O) Executive. The updated features in the new Hyundai Creta EX variant are front fog lamps (LED) with DRLs, reverse parking camera, a flexible headrest for the rear seats and rear armrest along with cup holder.

However, the diesel variant features some additional updates such as two tweeter, steering-mounted audio controls,five-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a front USB charging slot with 12V power output in the front and a sunglass holder.

All variants of the Hyundai Creta will now feature safety specs like dual-airbags, reverse parking camera, ABS with EBD, seat-belt reminders and high-speed alert; in order to be compliance with the new safety regulations of April 2020. The top-spec Hyundai Creta variants will have a standard safety feature of 6 airbags.More safety features include a lane-change indicator, speed and impact-sensing auto door lock, ESC, HAC, engine immobiliser, rear defogger and ISOFIX among others.

The new Hyundai Creta EX variant will produce 122bhp and 151Nm of torque with its 1.6-litre petrol engine, 89bhp and 220Nm of torque with the 1.4-litre diesel engine and 126bhp and 260Nm of peak torque with the 1.6-litre diesel engine.

A formal announcement about this launch is yet to be made by Hyundai. However, Hyundai dealers will endure selling the current stock of the Creta E and the Creta S 1.6-litre diesel automatic variants.
