Hero MotoCorp is the best seller in the commuter motorcycle segment however in scooter segment it has to make up a lot to catch up with the rivals. Considering the same, the company recently expanded its scooter lineup with the introduction of two new products namely Hero Maestro Edge 125 and Pleasure Plus.
The Maestro Edge is a sporty scooter that is aimed to cater to the young audience while the Pleasure Plus meant to female riders. Here we compared the Maestro Edge 125 with 125 rivals to find out how they stack up against each other on paper specs.
Powertrain: The engine displacement for all three of the scooter is the same at 125cc whereas there may be a slight difference in their churned power output figures. Hero Maestro Edge 125 shares its engine with its sibling the Destini 125. The 124.6 cc, air cooled, single cylinder, Energy Boost engine is rated to develop 8.70 bhp power at 6,750 rpm and 10.2 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. Whereas it rivals, Honda Activa 125 and Suzuki Access 125 is powered by a 124.9 cc fan cooled, 4 stroke, SI Engine and a 124 cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, air cooled engine respectively.
Features: Apart from a few features, all the scooters are almost neck to neck in terms of provided attributes. Hero Maestro Edge 125 gets a semi-digital instrument cluster and the brand’s patented i3S start-stop system for better fuel economy. Among others, it is equipped with USB charging, boot light and side stand indicator. Honda Activa 125 scooter, on the other hand, features a semi-digital instrument cluster with eco speed indicator along with with service due indicator, mobile charging socket and 4-in-1 lock with seat opening switch. While the Suzuki Access is blessed with a new digital instrument cluster which offers dual trip meter and oil change indicator. Among others, it gets attributes like a front pocket, one-push central lock system, large storage space, and DC socket as well. The CBS (combined braking system) which has become a compulsory feature for the two-wheeler below 125cc is being provided as standard on all three scooters.
Price: Hero Maestro Edge 125 falls in the price range of INR 58,500 to INR 62,700. While Honda Activa 125 makes you spend an amount ranging from INR 60,347 to INR 64,733. Other than this, the Suzuki Access 125 costs INR 55,977 to INR 60,188.
