Aprilia RS 150 which was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo last year along with Tuono 150, last year, is recently spotted at dealers meet in Goa, India. Alongside there was brand’s premium maxi scooter, SR Max 300 at the podium. It confirms that Aprilia could launch these models in question soon. Also, the brand would learn about the response of dealers and biking enthusiasts for these expected upcoming- the Aprilia RS 150 and SR Max 300 maxi scooter.
India-spec Aprilia RS 150 is considerably different from the international spec models. It gets an updated body language and new decals as compared to Euro-spec RS 125. On the bodywork, fairing design is different also the components such as fuel tank, pillion seat and foot pegs mounts are revised units. In addition to this, the rear view mirrors and switchgear are different from the model in comparison.
The powertrain behind the fairing will be a shared unit between the Aprilia RS 150 and Tuono 150. A 150cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled, fuel injected engine with a capacity to churn out 18 hp power at 10,000 rpm and 14 Nm torque at 7,500 rpm. The power transmission will be managed via a 6-speed gearbox. Among the cycle parts, the India-bound RS 150 will be equipped with USD front fork as standard suspension bits which will make it the first 150cc sports bike with USD as standard. The braking will be under the supervision of 300mm front and 280mm rear disc integrated with a dual channel ABS unit.

The Aprilia SR Max, on the other hand, is uncertain if and when it will hit the Indian roads. If launches, it will be among newbies in the maxi scooter segment. Suzuki Burgman Street 125 is witnessing a good response in the country and it is the right time for other manufacturers to test waters as the scooter segment is growing rapidly.
Design-wise, the SR Max 300 is a big scooter and features a large seat which is the soul of the maxi scooter. The comfortable seating for the rider and the pillion as well. The easy-to-reach handlebar is like a cherry on top if considered the comfortable ergonomics. Upfront, it receives a large windscreen and with beefy components while the rear section is sleek and long.
Mechanically, it is loaded with the propelling unit that is liable to spawn out 21.6bhp of power and 23Nm of torque, a 278cc, single-cylinder engine. The suspension on board includes telescopic forks up front and twin hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear. The braking setup, on the other hand, consists of a 260mm front disc and a 240mm rear disc for stopping responsibilities. With the fuel tank of 15-litre capacity, the SR Max 300 is a great tourer.
In the current Indian lineup, Aprilia offers scooters in 100-150cc displacement, which are the SR125 and the SR150. Also, we can see the introduction of SR Max 300 in the near future.
