Audi Launches RS7 Performance in India at INR 1.59 Crore

There is a great news for the car enthusiasts that the Indian facility of the German auto giant Audi has added a new variant of the regular RS7 to its lineup. Christened as Performance, it define itself as a more powerful and track-focused edition of the ongoing unit. Priced at INR 1,59,65,000 (Ex-showroom, Delhi), the sumptuous saloon will be offered side by side the standard RS7, facelifted version of which introduced last year at cost of INR 1.402 crore.

Although, it doesn’t get serious aesthetic updates, with the upgrades limited to merely a tweaked engine in order to make it more dynamic. Painted in an exclusive Ascari Metallic Blue exterior, the five-door sports beast also houses a new Sports Air suspension and RS exhaust setup along with ceramic disc brakes, a dynamic ride control facility and dynamic steering. Moreover, the use of comparable steel body and aluminium in its design has made the vehicle 15 percent lighter than the standard RS7.

At the heart of the car, the same 4.0-litre TFSI turbocharged petrol engine is situated, but the outcomes have been tweaked. Now power and torque stand at 596 Bhp available between 6100 to 6800 rpm and 700 nm between 1750 and 6000 rpm in compared to 552 bhp of power with regular model. The output will be sent to the all four corners through quattro drive system with the help of an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The company claims to offer Performance with an Overboost function which permits the driver to temporary hike torque to maximum 750 Nm available between 2500 and 7500 rpm. Having this mechanism and lighter weight, the car can hit 100 kmph sprint from standstill in just 3.7 seconds, that is 0.2 secs faster over the standard model. The top speed is electronically fixed to 280 kmph, which can be further pushed to 305 kmph with the dynamic package plus.

By introducing new tempting color options for the RS7 Performance edition, the automaker has designed it more alluring against to its standard RS7 version. Apart from these, it comes with some minor change over the design in terms of aggressive looking bumpers, larger air intakes, Quattro badged grille, and gloss black honeycomb grille. Besides, the car runs at 20-inch forged aluminum alloy wheels in 7 twin spoke shape, while optional 21-inch alloy wheels are also there.

Inside the cabin, Audi RS7 Performance gets features such as MMI infotainment system, new instrument cluster, air outlet console, shift paddles, four zone automatic air conditioning system, 3-spoke multi-functional steering wheel, and a Bose Surround system. Also, the premium leather upholsteries over the dash, side doors and seats is making the interior more attractive. Matt titanium styling package is comes as an exclusive features to the car. And like the most of the sports car, it is being imported through CBU unit.
