Audi’s latest Q-series coupe SUV, Audi Q8, is all set to make its world debut in June 2018. The Audi Q8 concept version was first unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in 2017. The Sport variant of the car was showcased at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. The car is presently in the production phase and is all set to hit the floors later this year.
The Audi Q8 was recently showcased at a private event and will be officially launched in Shanghai in June this year, as confirmed by Peter Mertens, Technical Development chief at Audi.
Similar to the Audi Q2, the Q8 will feature a unique design than any other model in the Q-series. The coupe SUV utilises MLB-Evo platform, the same as the Audi Q7, The car is expected to be made available in V6 and V8 petrol and diesel variants coupled with the traditional gas-driven turbocharges. The showcased model reveals features like the wide Singleframe grille, flat, wedge-shaped headlights and the connected rear lights put in an old fashion that somehow makes the design look like any other Audi, however, it is not.

The Audi Q8 will only be launched in petrol and diesel versions, as of now, however, it is expected to adopt electric turbocharging later on. The company is also expected to come up with a petrol-electric plug-in hybrid version of the Q8, featuring a 2.9-litre turbocharged V6 petrol engine along with an electric motor. There are also rumours about the possible future launch of an Audi SQ8, which may sport the same 4.0-litre triple-turbo V8 diesel engine as the Audi SQ8.
The Audi Q8 is likely to compete with the similar offerings from other car manufacturers, including the Mercedes GLE Coupe and the BMW X6. The price details are, as of now, unknown.
