India's one of the most prominent manufacturers in the two-wheeler market, Bajaj Auto, which is well known for its performance and fuel efficient motorcycles. This Pune based automaker is planning to bring a replacement for its Discover series and as per the reports, it is also revealed that the new commuter brand will take over the Discover series in the early 2016.
Reports also stated, the new brand commuter will be slotted into the range of 125cc to 150cc engine. The first model of this new brand commuter will be a 150cc motorcycle. The new 150cc motorcycle would be more eye-catchy and sportier in looks. The commuter will be blessed with extra features and be costlier than the current offerings.
Whereas, earlier reports tell a different story that two different brands are on the track of manufacturing, one would be a commute brand to focus on fuel efficiency and handy in price as similar to Discover brand and other would be a higher displacement luxury segment motorcycle of 375cc. The manufacturer did not make any official statement yet.
Recently the company enlarged its Avenger series for providing options to the enthusiasts in the cruiser segment. This step has been taken to force start the business from the Avenger segment. The new Avenger series comes in three variants of Avenger Street 150, Avenger Street 220 and Avenger Cruise 220.
The entry level cruiser Avenger Street 150 propels power from a 149cc, twin spark, 2-valve and DTS-i engine that produces 14.3 BHP power and 12.5 NM torque. The engine is coupled to a five-speed transmission.
