The Bajaj Auto is trying to fasten its cruiser motorcycle market again in the country as the company is planning to introduce three new models of its cruiser motorcycle, Bajaj Avenger. As per the report of Moneycontrol, the Bajaj Auto will launch three new models of Avenger this week in the country. At the current time, the company is selling more than 3000 units per month of Avenger with no such efforts and the firm is expecting positive sales figure from the cruiser motorcycle during the festive season. With the launch of new models, the company expects retail from the Avenger series to increase to 20,000 units per month.
As per now, the company has 19 percent market share in motorcycle segment and also plans to increase the market share to 23 percent by FY16-end. In terms of technical specifications, the examination of the new powertrain with some significant changes will increase the performance graph of the new avenger. The company will also tweak the new Avenger with some cosmetic updates such as graphics and other elements. The new cruiser motorcycle might get a rear disc brake and Anti-lock Braking System as an option.
The new cruiser motorcycle will be powered by the 200cc, four-stroke and single-cylinder engine that is found in Pulsar 200 NS and AS 200. The 220cc engine of Avenger returns 18.7 BHP of power, whereas the 200cc returns 23.5 BHP, which is 5 BHP more than Avenger 220. New Bajaj Avenger will be featured with a six-speed gearbox instead of five.
