Instead of introducing a new model, how about updating the existing one by re-tuning its engine?? Well, it seems to be a good idea for Bajaj Auto Ltd., as the firm might be planning to do the very same thing with the Bajaj Pulsar 150. Recently, a Pulsar model has been spied while it was on testing, near Lonavala, Maharashtra and this is the second time, it was being spotted. According to a recent report, it is expected that the spied model is featuring a 160cc displacement engine, which is able to replace the existing 150cc engined motorcycle.
The upcoming and rumored 160cc Pulsar will be able to replace the existing 150cc and 180cc motorcycle and their technology as well. The firm is also planning to introduce a triple-spark technology putting-back the twin-spark DTS-i technology, which the company is using in all existing models. Talking about the technical specifications of the Bajaj Pulsar 160cc, it would supposedly feature an air-cooled, single-cylinder, triple-spark engine with a displacement of 160cc, which is mated to the very same 5-speed transmission. And, if the power plant of the motorcycle gets re-tuned then so obviously the power and torque figures will also be moving forward from their place.
On the safety front, the upcoming 160cc Bajaj Pulsar will be featuring front petal disc brake, LED tail lamp, analogue digital console and side fenders. The suspension part has been taken care by telescopic forks at the front and monoshock at rear. It will also be getting a new fuel filler cap and newly designed alloy wheels catered by MRF Zapper rubber. The upcoming Pulsar models will be getting design motivations from the company's flagship motorcycle, Bajaj Pulsar 200NS.
The 160cc motorcycle is expected to be in the Indian market in the coming year, 2015 and will be capable enough to compete with the existing Yamaha FZ-FI, newly launched Suzuki Gixxer and Honda's upcoming 160cc motorcycle. However, we will highly expecting from Bajaj Auto to come with something really new, which would be able to stand against anyone else in the automobile market, as it will be the first one to have increased power in 160cc segment of motorcycles.
