Benelli Tornado 302 Anticipated to be Launched in India by Mid 2016

Benelli, the Italian motorcycle brand, has showcased Tornado 302 at the EICMA Motorcycle show, held last month in Milan. If the reports are supposed to be true, the fully faired sibling of TNT300 may probably reach the Indian territory in June next year. The Tourer will also be equipped with ABS in lieu of the upcoming safety norms that are scheduled to get in action in 2017.

Shirish Kulkarni, Chairman, DSK Motowheels, uttered that Tornado 302 is expected around June while ABS will be included in the motorcycle. Further, he added, it is yet to be decided that whether ABS will be a custom feature or not.

Power specifications of Tornado 302 are identical to that of TNT 300. The bike has been powered by a 300cc inline cylinder, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled engine, which churns out 35.3 PS of maximum power and 27 NM of peak torque. All power is sent to the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox. Suspension duties are performed by 41 mm upside down forks up front and swing arm with central shock absorber at the rear. The motorcycle has been armed with 260 mm double petal disc brake at the front and a 240 mm single disc brake at the rear end, to perform the braking responsibilities. As per the dimensions, the Tourer measures 2,175 mm in length, 746 mm in width and 1,146 mm in height, respectively.

The Benelli Tornado 302 will surely compete with the likes of the Yamaha R3 and the Ninja 300, once it is launched. No words about the pricing are out yet, but it is expected that the price tag of the motorcycle lies between INR 3.15 to 3.20 lakhs (ex-showroom).
