BMW 7 Series Previewed at 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show

Various automakers are taking the opportunity to display their respective models at the ongoing IAA show in Frankfurt. Joining this list is the next generation BMW 7 Series that has made its way to the event. Even though the model had been revealed with in the month of June, yet having a closer look at this swanky sedan is always a treat to the eyes. It bears certain similarities when compared to the present version but at the same time some portions highlight a pronounced modification, thereby making it more appealing.

2016 BMW X1

The luxury model is based on an updated CLAR platform and has been constructed with intensive use of carbon fiber. Due to this, the model has shed a lot of weight and now it is 130 kg lighter than its predecessor. It sports five-spoke alloy rims, optional laser headlights, wide air dams, auto park assist and a key fob with display. Moving inside, the cabin houses an iDrive 5.0 freestanding display with touchscreen interface and an enormous Head-up Display. It also operates on air and touch gestures, quite a smart feature we must say!

Under the hood, the diesel variant 730d is packed with B57 6-cylinder engine that generates 265 Hp of power. Moving on the petrol variants, the 740i trim is available with 326 Hp while the 750i xDrive gets an output of 444Hp. Transmission is handled by an eight-speed automatic gearbox and there in an AWD setup that comes as an optional arrangement.
