BMW had a supply shortage for its most awaited bike in this year the BMW G 310R, as of now the company is in no mood to place this bike into the Indian market as well as in European & German market. It was speculated that it will hit the Indian shores at the end of this year but now the time period has extended for early 2017.
This open street bike has a trimmed 313cc liquid cooled single cylinder engine which can deliver 34PS of power at 9500 RPM with a peak torque of 28NM at 7500RPM. It has a high tech DOHC machine with a six speed transmission & has various features like ABS, Metzeler tyres, dual disk brakes on both wheels, rear monoshock & USD front forks. It can go above 144 kmph as claimed by the company along with the fuel efficiency of 30 kmpl.
BMW had a tie up with the Indian automaker TVS Motors to start a development of 300-500cc bikes for the fulfillment of global market. TVS displayed a sport version of its recently showcased Akula 310 which will soon be handled to production department. Talking about the BMW G 310R, it has been sketched by BMW own Motorrad team & TVS taking the responsibility of its production side.
