BMW Motorrad India has launched the F 850 GS Adventure motorcycle at the price tag of INR 15.40 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It comes featured with the “Style Rallye’’ theme which includes a distinct paint job of blue and white colours, and components like a larger windscreen and gold finished rim, etc, costs around INR 2.50 lakh over the regular GS variant.
The BMW GSA series bikes are renowned for better dynamics and this BMW F 850 GS offers comes with the convenience of a large 23-litre fuel tank, crash protection, and a better seat settled at the height of 875mm for a safer sitting position on uneven terrain surfaces.
The “Comfort Seat’’ that is provided as an accessory on the regular GS model is given as standard equipment on the F 850 GS Adventure. With these additional attributes, the F 850 GS Adventure weight goes up by 15kgs and now stands at 244kgs. Also, it would be interesting to know that the gear and rear brake lever on either side are adjustable on the model.

Further, the bash plate and knuckle guards are standard features on the model while the windscreen is an adjustable unit that can be arranged as per the height of the rider. The F 850 GS Adventure gets power from an 853cc, twin cylinder engine that is rated to develop 95HP at 8250rpm and transmit 92Nm of peak torque to the rear wheel via a married gearbox transmission.
The F850GSA comes with the riding modes like Rain and Road as standard while one can opt for others as an optional package. For rider safety, there is a cornering ABS facility on the bike along with brand’s patented traction control system.
The motorcycle competes with the rivals such as Triumph Tiger 800 and Honda Africa Twin in the segment. A complete package of adventure tourer capabilities, the BMW F850GSA comes gets a 6.5-inch all-digital instrument console which allows smartphone integration for added information on the go.
