BMW i3 Pure Electric Hatchback Premiered in India

Apart from launching the i8 hybrid sports car in India yesterday, BMW has also made the first appearance of its first i range electric model, i3 hatchback. The Indian people were very glad to see this car for the first time, which will be mainly brought to the country as per considering the customer's demand regarding pure electric vehicle as well as its launch is dependent on the government incentives. Notably, the German manufacturer is ready to set this car in the market, but it's delaying due to its most expensive price, which won't be affordable for everyone as the runabout would come out via CBU route.

Hence, this luxury car maker is waiting for the government support, so that it can roll out the pure electric hatchback without any trouble. Spilling the beans about more reasons to holding back its launch is that the company wants to run the motor via renewable source in order to meet with the EV's basic concept, while the electric energy can be produced currently in India through non-renewable source. After satisfying all these conditions, the brand will be able to release this vehicle in the automobile market as soon as possible.

The president of BMW India, Mr Philip Von Sahr said, “the i3 is of course a car that is interesting in the long term prospect, when the market for electric vehicles start growing. At the moment, the electric car market is in a nascent stage, but has a lot of potential in the future. There are others who would also like to participate in launching an EV in the future, which will lead to more investment, automatically leading to a growth.”
