The German Automaker has declared that it will be hiking the price in the entire model range due to some reasons by 3 percent to 5.5percent. Although the prices will be effective from April 1, 2018, the announcement is made publically to inform the buyers in advance. The reason behind the increase is the hike in the customs duty which is declared in the Union Budget 2018 by the Finance Minister, India. The range of available BMW models in the country is the BMW 7 Series, the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo, the BMW X1, the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo, the BMW 3 Series, the BMW X3, the BMW X5 and the BMW 5 Series and all range will get a price hike.
The President of BMW Group India, Vikram Pawah said, "We have been giving our customers some breathing space so that they can make an informed choice. This is why we have been waiting to increase the prices of our cars. But from April 1, 2018, we will be hiking the prices of our vehicles between 3-5.5 percent."

The Nissan, Audi, and Datsun are also coming to the line with the BMW in the price hike. The Audi will hike the price of all variants available in India up to 4 percent, whereas the Datsun and Nissan will get a nominal price increase of 2percent. The price hike will be of Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 9 lakh considering a particular type of model.
