BMW has wrapped off the curtains from the 2017 BMW 2-series models, the 2017 BMW 230i Coupe and 230i Convertible, along with the siblings, the M240i Coupe and M240i Convertible.
Under the hood, both the new 230i Coupe and 230i Convertible comes powered by the latest-generation 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, capable of producing 248 PS of peak power and 350 Nm of torque. According to BMW, the engine offers amazing power and and efficiency. The car is claimed to sprint 0-100 kmph in 5.6 seconds for the Coupe mode,while the convertible takes around 6.1 seconds.
Meanwhile, the BMW M240i is now assembled with a new inline-six cylinder engine, which produces a maximum power of 335 PS and 500 NM of torque. It is said to be 15 PS more power and 52 Nm more torque in comparison to the predecessor. Both the Coupe and Convertible models come paired to the latest eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission as standard. Rear-wheel-drive models offer a six-speed manual as well.
Additionally, it receives an array of upmarket equipments such as exterior mirror caps finished in Ferric Grey Metallic, 18-inch M wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, an M Sport braking system with fixed multi-piston calipers, Variable Sports Steering with Servotronic function and a model-specific M aerodynamic package.
The new 230i Coupe and Convertible models will be available in the international market by July this year. In case, it happen to reach Indian shores, the price is likely to be around Rs 30 lakh mark. It will rival against the Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class.
