Borgward BX7 All Set to Make an Indian debut in 2016

As per the website autocar India, Borgward is all set to make its debut at Indian shores soon. It will launch its BX7 model in India that has been already revealed at the Frankfurt Auto Show 2015, held earlier this month. For those who are not aware about the company history, we would like to tell you that it is not a new entrant in the automobile market. This brand was founded long back in 1929, and later in 1961, it had to be closed down due to bankruptcy.

Now after 54 years, the grandson of company founder Mr Carl FW Borgward, has managed to re-launch the entity backed by the financial support from Chinese truck manufacturer named Foton. This time, the automaker is aiming at introducing a whole new lineup in which two new cars will be launched each year. The size will resemble to an Audi Q5 or a BMW X3 model and the price is estimated to be fixed around INR 25-27 Lacs.

This luxury model will be housing a premium Nappa leather upholstery, flat steering wheel and aluminium accents at certain portions. The center console will comprise a 12.3 inch infotainment system that will be compatible with Apple and Android devices alongside Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity. It could be offered with either a 6 or 7 seat configuration. As of now, the only engine option is likely to be a 2 litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces maximum output of 220 Hp and 300 Nm.
