Chinese NextEV Unveils World's Fastest Electric Car, NIO EP9

NextEV, Chinese electric car company today cuts the ribbon of its new NIO brand and its first product, the EP9, claimed to be the world's fastest electric car. In order to bolster such claims, the sleek two-seater comes with four electric motors along with four individual gearbox that makes the car enable to run the unit with a ground-breaking power of 1300hp. The automaker didn’t quote a 0 to 100 kmph time, but it did say that the supercar can sprint from nought to 200 kmph in just 7.1 seconds and can do a top speed of 313 kmph.



Having equipped with a facility like an “interchangeable battery system”, it can be charged fully in 45 minutes and can make a range of  427 kilometres. Furthermore, it is the same car that has achieved a new lap record for electric cars at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, one of the most renowned race track, situated in Germany. The EP9 had achieved such milestone of the Ring on October 12, 2016, by completing the sprint in 7 minutes and 5.12 seconds. That the automaker claims and registered its name as the fastest electric car in the world.



NextEV Founder and Chairman, William Li, said, "Today we launched our electric supercar that broke the record at the Nordschleife. The company adds that the EP9 comes sporting a "carbon cockpit and chassis embodies a new approach to performance vehicle design to handle the physical demands of a car with 3G cornering capabilities, with added structural solidity and aero efficiency". The car can achieve 24,000 Newtons of downforce at 240Km/h.
