Datsun India has finally introduced the liter class variant of its Redi GO model at the price tag of INR 3.57 Lakh (ex-showroom, Pan India).
Under the hood, the hatch shares its powertrain from the Renault Kwid 1.0L. The 1.0-litre i-SAT engine is capable of developing 65hp of maximum power and 91 Nm of peak torque, which is at par as compared to its rivals. The power transmission will take place with the same five-speed manual gearbox used in the 800cc version. The fuel efficiency for this top end variant is 22.5Kmpl as ARAI claimed. Comparatively, it is also at par with its rivals.
Other than this bigger 1.0L engine placement, no changes are made at the mechanicals front by the carmaker. However, the brand has worked upon lowering down the NVH (Noise, Vibration & Harshness) levels by bolstering the soundproofing. The suspension setup has been retuned to accommodate the improved weight of the larger capacity engine.
Exterior wise, the car resembles the same old 800 cc variant in terms of styling and equipped attributes. Although, a few changes have been made to freshen up the model. The applied alterations include the ‘1.0L’badge on the tailgate and the DRLs as a standard offering across the variants.
Inside the cabin, the highlights which are new employment comprises an all-black interior, which will make you feel like plastic but actually it is far better than this. The remote keyless entry and silver finish on the horn pad of the steering wheel is now offered as standard fitment across the range.
The new redi-GO is being offered in the top-end T(O) and S variants which are embellished with the driver\'s side airbag as standard. Other attributes include a two-speaker audio system with USB, AUX, and AM/FM connectivity. Altogether, the Bluetooth connectivity is also on offer, however, touchscreen unit with navigation is not a part of this new emergent like the Renault Kwid.
In the segment, the Redi-GO 1.0L will go in competition with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, Hyundai Eon, and the Renault Kwid 1.0L.
