Delhi Auto Show 2018 will be bigger as compared to the previous (2016 edition), in which we saw only two-three launches. 24 new launches and 100 unveiling of new vehicles will be from various segments which comprises passenger vehicles, two-wheelers, and commercial vehicles. Some of the companies such as Nissan, Audi, Volkswagen, Skoda, Ford, and Ducati, are not attending the mega event this year due to the high charges of participation. We have 48 members and none of the events in the past has seen more than 50% participation.” He also said this year most of the companies are not going to attend the mega event due to the high charges of the participation and further added that are some new companies such as Korean Kia Motors and Japanese Kawasaki are attending the expo this year.
“India right now is going through a huge disruption in the auto market. With the direct transition from BS-IV to BS-VI in two years and the EV plan etc, companies are not really bringing in new conventional vehicles anymore, Also, we have not changed the space rentals since 2012. On the contrary, we have reduced them by offering discounts”, Sen said. The charges of the participation of space have been increased from Rs 8,200 to Rs 8,900 per square feet during Delhi Auto Expo 2018.
Where most of the companies are ready to launch their new products at the grand event, many are staying away from the event. It is quite worrisome for bike-lovers that this time they will miss the biggest automobile brands such as Volkswagen group, Ford, Harley Davidson and Bajaj Auto. According to a report, 2 big two-wheeler players, 3 truck manufacturers, and 7 car manufacturers will not be part of the Auto Expo 2018.
As per the experts, the reasons behind not participation are expensive participation costs, low return on investment (ROI), lack of visitor profile to Noida and lack of new products. Some bigger brands like Man Trucks, Scania Bajaj Auto, Bajaj Auto, Triumph, Harley Davidson, Royal Enfield, Nissan, Fiat, Skoda, Volvo, Royal Enfield, Volkswagen, Man Trucks, Jeep, General Motors, Volkswagen, Ford, Audi, Chevrolet, Ford, General Motors, Harley Davidson, Scania, Fiat, Jeep, Volvo, Triumph, Audi, Skoda, Chevrolet, Nissan, will not be part of upcoming Auto Expo 2018.
