Legendary Italian superbike manufacturer, Ducati has launched a limited edition Panigale V4 namely the Panigale V4 25° Anniversario 916. In fact, it is an anniversary edition that celebrates 25 years of the company’s iconic 916 and will be provided only in a limited count of 500 units. Its availability to Ducati India dealerships is slated to start from the beginning of October 2019.
The Panigale V4 25° Anniversario 916 is tagged with a whopping price tag of INR 54.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India), which makes it the most expensive variant over the other Panigale V4 versions available in the country. This includes the V4 Speciale and Ducati Panigale V4 R, which attract the price sticker of INR 51.81 lakh and INR 51.87 lakh respectively (ex-showroom, India).
As Ducati claims, “the Ducati 916 wasn\'t just a great bike, it also won World Superbike Championships: the 916 SBK was a force to be reckoned with even as it made its debut and the following years saw it win 120 races, eight constructors\' titles and six riders\' titles – four of them with Englishman ‘King’ Carl Fogarty. Even now, the English racer and the 916 remain the most successful \'couple\' in Ducati SBK history.”
Massimo Tamburini noted motorcycle designer was the man behind the aggressive and appealing design of the bike.
In terms of mechanical, the 25° Anniversario 916 borrows the 1,103cc V4 engine from the Panigale V4 S. The powertrain is rated to develop 214hp and 124Nm of torque. Other than the powertrain, the underpinned sportier chassis is also a shared unit though with the Panigale V4 R variant. Furthermore, the 25° Anniversario 916 is armed with a dry clutch along with a host of rider aids including Ducati Traction Control EVO 2 and Ducati Quick Shift EVO 2.

At the skin, the motorcycle is finished in a colour scheme inspired from the Ducati 996 SBK (The superbike won the title of World Superbike Championship 1999). Also, there is a majority of components crafted from carbon-fibre and billet-aluminium along with forged-magnesium Marchesini Racing wheels and a titanium Akrapovic exhaust.
The Panigale 25°Anniversario 916 limited edition is a collector’s bike. Its owner will be rewarded with an authenticity certificate containing the bike, frame and engine numbers. Other than this, the company is going to auction bike number ‘5’ of the Panigale 25°Anniversario 916 limited edition. It is the number was used by Carlin Dunne and the motorcycle with this number was showcased at the WSBK round in Laguna Seca. Collected amount from the auction of this specific Carlin Dunne number will be donated to trust in his memory.
