Ducati Scrambler 1200 Undergoing Test Runs in Europe: Scoop

After being amused by the strong success of the Ducati Scrambler and Scrambler Sixty2, the Italian Hercules is now about to introduce another new offering for the family. A flagship variant of the Scrambler 1200 is soon going to be introduced in the European market, which will be a new addition to the portfolio of Ducati. The pictures displayed here are the early prototype of the upcoming Ducati Scrambler 1200, which was spied performing its test runs in Europe.

While there’s no surety about the 1200 variant, but, it appears to be the Enduro owing to the high-mounted front fender and off road tyres. Besides, the rear view mirrors, the headlamp, and the unusual instrument setup make it obvious to the bike under discussion.

Further highlighting the features on the prototype, the test mule gets USD front fork and monoshock absorber at the rear end. Offering ABS as a standard stuff, the front wheel of the bike is under the control of twin discs while rear wheel will be handled by a single disc. The flagship Scrambler will offer a chunk of electronic goodies as well.

We can expect that the final production variant is going to be evidently a bigger engined Scrambler. The motorcycle would probably take the Monster 1200’s L-Twin Testastretta engine, which will be equipped with a 6-speed transmission. Although, the power figures are not disclosed yet, still, they will definitely suit the Scrambler’s character.

The latest offering from Ducati could be premiered at the 2016 EICMA Motorcycle show, scheduled to be held in November. Talking about its India launch, we might witness it here when it gets ready. At present, the 800cc Ducati Scrambler is available in the country. The cheaper 400cc Sixty2 version may not land on the Indian shores.
