Eicher Trucks and Buses, which is also a part of VE Commercial Vehicles has successfully entered into the mini-truck space by launching Eicher Pro 1049 in the sub-five tonne category. It will be priced in between Rs. 7 Lakh to Rs. 8 Lakh.
Commenting over the launch, Shyam Maller, Senior Vice President,VE Commercial Vehicles stated that "With the launch of Eicher Pro 1049 from our Pithampur plant, we plan to strengthen or leadership in the light and medium duty (LMD) segment and is aligned with the company's commitment to usher in the future of Indian trucking with next generation products and technologies."
This compact mini-truck has been designed to handle and serve all parts of the nation- urban, semi-urban and rural. The company aims to grow potentially in this section as the sector has potentially grown in the recent years, playing an important role in boosting the economy. Presently, the market size of the sub-five tonne LMD stands at 8,000 units, which is likely to increase in the coming years.
