At the ongoing 2016 EICMA media coverage in Italy, Austria-based motorcycle maker has now brought the 2017 KTM Duke 125 at the podium. Aesthetically pleasing to eyes, the bike has got an array of updates on styling and equipped components end.
In the applied major updates, one is the use of a newly designed chassis which is evident from the bike’s exposed side profile. Besides, the new Duke 125 is adorned with new LED headlights, draws inspiration from the elder brother, Super Duke. in terms of design, it is wealthy with an aggressive and sharp styling from upfront to the tail section.
The most interesting are the fitment of 43mm WP fork suspension at the front and Bybre calipers – which normally not seems on the smaller bikes. As safety concerned, the Duke gets the Bosch 9.1MB switchable dual channel ABS as standard along with Metzeler tyres for handling on wet surfaces.
Beneath the fuel tank, the motorcycle is packed with similar but enhanced power plant of 125cc single-cylinder for making it Euro IV emission norms compliant. The said engine unit is efficient enough to cruise the 137kg heavier bike from the generated 15bhp power. Supplying of power to the rear wheel takes place via six-speed gearbox transmission constituted to the engine assembly.
Apart from that, this latest duke 125 is now featured with an all new TFT instrument cluster for providing rich information of the ride. The MY RIDE entertainment system is also on offer for smartphones hands-free connectivity as an option. For hassle free and comfortable touring, the seats have also been tweaked also with the side-mounted exhaust system.
This new KTM Duke 125 will be manufactured at the Bajaj’s Chakan based production facility and will export to the European market for sale.
