Etios Cross is the latest product from World Auto Leader Toyota. This car is basically the same Etios Liva with almost every new bit placed in plastic. The car manages to look better than its elder sibling Liva and has done good to show off itself. But ultimately it is the same car which has the robust engine and dust image in the Indian market.
Etios Cross is finally here which is one of the most awaited products from the future launch series of India bound automobile manufacturers. From the appearance front, the car is full of plastics. The claddings placed all around the car are completely made up of plastics which might get damaged in the busy streets of India. It is a matter of fact that while roaming in the city, the car may touch a few bits to corners, affecting its looks abruptly.
Toyota's new baby was earlier rumored to be having a good amount of raised ground clearance but the truth is something unfair. It holds nothing different to the Liva concerning mechanicals. The company has tried to place a crossover face on their sightly flop hatchback. Still it would be a matter of worry for Toyota to grab the attention of their customers towards the car. Toyota seems to be in hurry while designing the cross as the plastics which they sticked over the car visualize to be having low finishing.
The appreciable changes which the new car received were found inside. The bright, piano finish black color scheme looks great and better than what the Liva was having till now. Interior has got plush styling with music player, tachometer, leather wrapped steering wheel, steering wheel mounted music player controls etc. The seating space inside the car is same as in the earlier car.
Engines placed inside this car are borrowed from Etios Liva. The petrol engines powering the car are 1.2 liter 4 cylinder with 80 PS of power, 104 Nm of torque and 1.5 liter 4 cylinder with 90 PS of power and 132 Nm of torque. The 1.5 liter unit is borrowed from the Liva TRD Sportivo and it is the best one when overall output of the machine is concerned. The top variant of all models are equipped with ABS and front Airbags.
Toyota demands approx Rs. 50,000 more than the ongoing models which we think is not at all justified for what customer is getting. The reliable image and brand value of Toyota might boost the sales. However, there is no doubt that the Etios Cross is a better looker than the Liva.
