Volvo India has launched the updated facelift version of its existing V40 and V40 Cross Country at a starting price of INR 25.49 Lakh. This makes the V40 hatchback, the cheapest car to be sold in the country carrying the Volvo badge. The updates to the facelift versions are limited to the aesthetics, while mechanically both the cars remain identical to their forerunning models.
Volvo has offered V40 range across 4 trims, below here are the variant-wise prices of Volvo V40 and V40 Cross Country:
Volvo V40 D3 Kinetic - INR 25.49 Lakh
Volvo V40 D3 R-Design - INR 28.53 Lakh
Volvo V40 Cross Country D3 Inscription - INR 29.4 Lakh
Volvo V40 Cross Country T4 Momentum - INR 27.2 Lakh
On the exteriors, the facelift version of the V40 receives a revised front fascia which is complemented by the Volvo’s signature ‘Thor’s Hammer’ shaped LED headlights. The grille gets waterfall vertical slats holding the company’s badge and looks more prominent than before. Expect the front, the side and the rear sections of the car get no noteworthy tweaks, it continues to drive on the same 16- and 17-inch alloy wheels, features same LED tail lamps. The elder sibling, V40 Cross Country also went under the same subtle changes those were reported on the V40.
As you step inside, you will feel a bit more or less. The highlights of the cabin include leather upholstery, digital instrument cluster, smart infotainment display, climate control, electrically adjustable and a large fixed panoramic sunroof.
What’s unique on both cars is the World’s first-in-industry pedestrian airbag which comes as a standard feature across all trims. The list of other standard safety equipment includes safety cage, 2-stage deployable front airbags with driver knee bag, pre-tensioners for front seatbelts, dynamic stability & traction control, emergency brake assist with ABS, side impact protection and whiplash protection.
As we mentioned above, no change has been made under the hood. Both the V40 and the V40 Cross Country continue to drive using the same sub 2L powerhouse that is capable of churning out the maximum power of 150 hp and the peak torque of 320 Nm.
