Well, it’s been around twenty years, when Nissan brought out a fourth generation model of its Serena minivan, and finally a next generation of the same unit is on the cards. But, it is fact that success has its own time and it actually takes long and tough years. It can be sensed with the new Serena that is coming out with a world class feature- semi-autonomous driving system and will become the first Japanese car to be introduced with this technology.
Dubbed as ProPilot, it will control the brake, acceleration and steering at speed between 30 to 100 kmph. A single camera will be fixed at the top of the windscreen to command all the features and to fend off all the collisions. Reportedly, it will arrive at company's dealership by August this year, while Nissan is also in mood to cater this technology to European auto market in 2017.
Coming to further detail about fifth generation Nissan Serena, it features a new front fascia that comes integrated with V-Motion grille, new two -tier headlamps, a redesigned bumper and fog lamps. Inside it flaunts a revamped dash with instrument cluster and instrument panel as well as hollow shaped headrests, second row seatbelts, etc.
The complete details are yet to come, however, the powertrain is expected to be same as of the regular one. With all these new attachment, it would be priced higher against its predecessor near the 3 million Yen Mark (INR 20 Lakhs, approx).
