The Tata-owned carmaker, Jaguar Land Rover has criticised the ban on the diesel car sales in the capital. The Ceo commented that the air sucked in by its latest technology vehicles on Delhi roads reveals that the Delhi air is “far dirtier” than what our vehicles emit. Jaguar is one of the company that has been enlisted in the ban ordered by the apex court in December, 2015, which states that the sales of SUVs and cars above 2000cc are bound to be banned in the entire NCR till March 31.
According to the Jaguar Ceo, Ralph Speth, “In order to reduce pollution and improve air quality, we need to take some severe measures in spite of unnecessarily banning the cars. Banning old cars and other pollution sources might be more helpful in these circumstances.”
Highly disappointment at the Supreme Court order, Speth added further: “I am an engineer. It (the order) has nothing to with market and nothing to do with anything. What triggered such a decision from a technology point of view? From a technological point of view this kind of decision is unreasonable.”
