The Ford India has silently introduced the advanced safety features of ABS with EBD as standard on its lower variants-the Ford Figo and Ford Aspire. This move has also included the Ford India, after the Toyota, Skoda and the Volkswagen in the volume segment cars manufacturers offering standardization of next gen safety features to their respective model line-ups
The Ford Figo and Aspire carlines are offered over all of its five and four trims, respectively, with the anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) facility, which was previously being offered only for the top end variant of Titanium and Titanium+ trims.
With car safety rapidly growing the priority list in India and around the world, the government of India is expected to make airbags and ABS as a mandatory regulation on all iterations of all cars.
In terms of the future safety standards, various manufacturers have started the introduction of a horde of safety elements to their respective model line-ups. Likewise, Maruti Suzuki has also stepped further recently to make ISOFIX fitment as a standard provision across it's all Ciaz trims.
Volkswagen recently brought in ABS and dual front airbags as standard provision across the entire Polo and Vento series, thus fabricated the two safety features standard for all its vehicles in India.
To a large extent the American carmaker goes, while it instituted ABS with EBD on the Trend trim of Ford Figo and Aspire, it already endows driver airbags as standard across its entire model lineup in India, that encompass Ford Figo, Aspire, EcoSport, Endeavour, and Mustang.
