Thanks to the re-introduction of the 1L Ecoboost petrol engine, Buyers can now own the all-new Ford EcoSport S for Rs 11.37 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This is about Rs 15,000 cheaper than the 1.5-litre petrol manual Titanium+ trim, which comes with a price tag of Rs 11.52 lakh. However, the diesel variant of the Ford EcoSport S is now the range-topping model in its segment. The 1.5-litre diesel motor driven variant is priced at Rs 11.89 lakh. This is about Rs 85,000 more than the current range-topping diesel trim. A highlight of the Ford EcoSport S is the \'Fun-roof\'.
In terms of numbers, the erstwhile 1.0-litre engine part of the pre-facelift EcoSport churns out the same power output of 125 hp and 170 Nm of peak torque with a fuel efficiency figure of 18.1kpl. The engine coupled with a five-speed manual transmission.
On the cosmetic front, the new Ford EcoSport S sports a dual-tone exterior finish (along with a new Orange paint) and black inserts for the grille, headlamps and fog lamps. On the inside, the compact SUV inherits is in perfect sync with the dual-tone theme of the exterior with center console, doors, and seats adorning a contrasting finish. An all-new sunroof, HID headlamps, instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch display form part of the new feature list. The Ford EcoSport S rests on new 17-inch alloy wheels with a tire pressure monitoring system for safety. For enhanced driving experience and easier maneuverability, the S trim carries a stronger suspension and easier steering.
In addition to the above, the Ford has also launched the Signature Edition of the EcoSport both in petrol and diesel. With a few subtle changes, the EcoSport Signature Edition boasts of inside-out refresh design. New features include the sunroof which Ford calls as the ‘Fun Roof’ coupled to a sharper and sportier roof spoiler. The signature editions rest on runs on 17-inch large machined wheels. Other sportier features that make the Titanium or Titanium+ trim based Signature Editions stand out from its immediate rivals like the Tata Nexon and Maruti Vitara Brezza include electronic stability control and hill-start assist.
The American maker has very carefully launched the Signature Edition of the EcoSport with a competitive price tag of Rs 10.99 lakh for the diesel and Rs 10.40 lakh for the petrol. In order to truly be a great value for money proposition, the two signature editions feature reworked front grille with chrome surround and Diamond cut 17” alloys, a unique Anodised Blue exterior paint shade, special \'Signature\' badging and all-black interiors with contrasting blue stitching. Ford will hope that the clever use of blue accents on center console, seat stitching, and instrument panel will attract potential buyers looking for a more stylish, trendier and fun-to-drive option. When it comes to power, petrol variant of the EcoSport Signature Edition claims 123hp whereas the 1.5-litre diesel motor promises 100hp.
