The EV space in the Indian two-wheeler market getting crowded nowadays with the emergence of new EV manufacturers. Lately, a Delhi-based Gemopai Electric also made its way to EV sector with its first electric scooter named Astrid Lite. The Astrid Lite is priced at INR 79,999 and available to choose from five colour options including Burnt Charcoal, Deep Indigo, Eclectic Neon, Fiery Red and Fireball Orange. The pre-bookings for the e-scooter has been commenced while it’s delivery to its authorized buyers is expected to start from the first week of October month. It is to be noted Gemopai is a joint venture of partners Goreen E-Mobility and Opai Electric and is known globally among the largest EV manufacturers.

The Astrid Lite is a perfect blend of styling and performance and receives an array of trendy features such as LED headlamp with DRLs, LED colour display, side-stand indicator, keyless ignition, USB charging, and an anti-theft sensor which ensures vehicle safety from getting robbed.
The Astrid Lite gets propelling the power of 4000W from a 2400W motor which is powered by a 1.7kW lithium-ion battery. The battery weighs around 8.5 kgs and comes with detachment ease. As the company claims the scooter can traverse the range of 75-90km with the provided three-rider modes-Sports, City and Economy. In the Sports mode, the scooter is claimed to attain a top speed of 75kmph and can climb a steep of 18 degrees effortlessly. On the other hand, in city mode, the scooter becomes a convenient ride for city roads and traffic. While the economy mode churns out the maximum efficiency and range of the scooter.

In terms of hardware equipment, the Astride Lite rests on telescopic forks up front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. The braking responsibility on the scooter is managed by a disc up front and a drum unit at the rear which comes integrated to EABS (Electronic Assist Brake System) for better braking performance.
