Skoda India has finally confirmed the arrival of its new Octavia RS 245 for the year 2017 in India, which is also said to be the most powerful Octavia built till date. The company has pulled the curtains off the beauty at Geneva Motor Show 2017.
The company has introduced Octavia RS 245 in both sedan as well as a waggon variant across the globe. But unfortunately, only the sedan variant will be seen across the country. The global Skoda Octavia is a facelift and is blessed with a twin headlamp setup, which had also seen in previous-gen Skoda Laura in India. The front part has been decorated by the signature moustache grille and the LED DRLs mounted with the headlamps.
Moreover, the new RS 245 is powered by a 1.8-litre turbocharged petrol engine, capable of churning out a maximum power output 242 bhp along with a peak torque of 370 Nm at 2500 rpm. Global users will also get an option to buy RS with a 6-speed manual gearbox instead of the 7-speed DSG. The new RS 245 sits lower than the previous RS and also gets an electronically controlled limited-slip differential and a wider rear track for smooth and better performance.
Along with the new RS, the company has also introduced Octavia Scout, which is also said to be the spartan brother of RS due to having more muscular looks and better equipment. Skoda has no plans to launch Octavia Scout anytime soon in India, but the Octavia RS 245 will surely make its way to the country in the skin of current Octavia soon.
