The Cambridgeshire, England based Herald Motor Company made its first step in the motoring market three years ago. But not company planning to become a complete British manufacturer with the introduction of whole new retro roadster, powered by a 400cc chinese engine by the end of this year.
The Herald Motor company is fully focused to design its own frame to become one from the group of British motorcycle manufacturer and the beating heart will be imported from china. Once succeeded in developing the home based frame, the company will convert the current imported complete chinese bikes frames from them.
Mr. Rob Croxall, Business Operations Manager, while expressing its views related to the Herald Motors said,"Being a British manufacturer has long been a dream of Herald’s MD," and, "We have been converting the 250cc for a while now and we want to up the British content. Eventually the plan is to build an entirely British bike, so producing our own frame is the first step towards achieving this goal."
Currently developing the aluminium frame and swingarm for the imported chinese single-cylinder is prior. And it will be released at Motorcycle Live at the end of this year and will hit the British motoring market in the early 2017 at an economical price tag to compete with the other motorcycles.
Peter Wickham, Herald's Chief Engineer said about the new roadster, "We have already sourced a Euro4-compliant engine from China, along with an ABS system, which we couldn’t find in the UK, but as many of the other components as possible will be British, including the seat and petrol tank.” and “The bike will be very light, which is why we decided to use air-cooling and not base it on the 450cc water-cooled Rottweiler prototype we showed at Motorcycle Live last year. Like the 250 it will be a platform bike, so we can give customers the option of customisation through items such as bars, tyres and seats, and it will have high specification suspension built by Racetek."
