2018 Honda CBR250R launched, Priced for INR 1.63 lakh

The CBR250R, a prominent sports tourer from Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) that was discontinued from the Indian lineup, has made its debut once again at the price of INR 1.63 lakh. The motorcycle introduction to the existing lineup was silent, no launch event, no press release, nothing. However, the public appearance of the sports runner has already been taken place at the recent Auto Expo. Earlier mentioned price tag denotes the base variant of the CBR250R. Whereas to opt the top end variant of the same, you have to spend cumulative sum of INR 1.93 lakh. Both the stated price quotes are applicable at the ex-showroom, Delhi.

The Honda CBR250R was eliminated from the Indian lineup along with its younger sibling owing to the models were not BS-IV emission norms compliant. This newly launched version of the quarter-litre sports now not only complies with the BS-IV emission norms but also boasts a host of never been provided features.

At the skin, the new Honda CBR250R did not witness any changes. Besides, the introduction of a new colour palette comprising colour options like Pearl Sports Yellow, Matte Axis Gray Metallic with Mars Orange, Matte Axis Gray Metallic with Striking Green and Sports Red. in addition to that, the blacked out alloys with a pinstripe of the body colour are the major visual highlight of the motorcycle.

Among the gizmos, the new Headlamp assembly and an improved instrument cluster are the new fitments on the new Honda CBR250R.

Mechanically, a 246cc, liquid-cooled motor is responsible for forward motion of the motorcycle that churns out the maximum power of 26bhp and the peak torque of 23Nm.

In the sports bikes segment, the Honda CBR250R will go in competition with the likes of the KTM RC200, Yamaha Fazer25, TVS Apache RR310. The Honda CBR150R that was also eliminated from the lineup, its launch is not sure as of now. However, the chances are it could arrive soon as the Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 has launched and the Aprilia RS150 is set to launch next year.
