Honda CBR300R and CBR300F Recalled Over Faulty Engine Issue

Well known Japan-based automobile company, Honda has issued a recall for its sports bike CBR300R and naked trim CBR300F offerings in the US over a potential faulty crankshaft probe, which could lead to a permanent engine failure and unfortunate incident. Around a total of 11,424 affected motorcycle has been considered under this recall.

Honda CBR300R

This issued recall notice over the ACCC recall website via Honda, states that “due to incorrect Quality Control during the manufacturing process, the engine crankshaft bearings may fail and cause the engine to stop suddenly and be unable to be restarted.” Furthermore, the company added, while riding sudden engine breakdown could result in a crash.

Here is the list of affected motorcycles’ Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN):

  • CBR300R: MLHNC51U5F5100003 to MLHNC51U7G5200699
  • CB300F: MLHNC52U3F5100001 to MLHNC52U9G5200248

Reportedly, it came into view only 41 motorcycles collectively has found to have this issue till now, without any life hazard. As an instant action to prevent this, first of all, Honda has ordered not to sell a single unit of the above-mentioned motorcycles till the completion of recall work.

Honda CB300F

As per the surrounded rumors, recall function may be commenced by the last of this month. In which, authorized Honda dealers will make direct contact with the affected bike’s owners which comes under the surfaced VIN series list. The owners will be asked to bring their bikes to the service station to change the crankshaft assembly free of cost.
