Honda Likely To Launch Its Jazz-Based Electric Car By 2020

In an attempt to revive its reputation in the global EV market, the Japanese Car Maker Honda, is all set to release a new Jazz-based electric vehicle (car) in 2020. The company is already reportedly working on several EV concept vehicles for the future. However, the news about the new Jazz-based car is the most interesting.

The new Honda electric car is expected to go on sale in the first half of 2020 in some major markets including China. The company also plans to use a new battery technology from the Chinese firm Contemporary Amperex Technology, instead of Panasonic and GS Yuasa batteries used in its current electric cars.

The step is expected to help Honda strengthen its prospects in the prominent Chinese market since the Chinese government incentivizes vehicles that use locally-constructed batteries.

The details about the design and specifications of the new Jazz-based Honda EV are not known yet. The company expects to sell as many as 10,000 vehicles per year once the production of the same begins officially.
