Honda has launched the PCX in April 2018. Now, the company is planning to roll out a new scooter which will be based on the PCX, however, it would be a Hybrid version that will be equipped with a new high-output lithium ion battery. The presence of drive assist in the ACG starter will enable the engine to start conventionally and generate electricity. Initially, the product will be rolled out for the Japanese market by the end of this year.
The fitment of this hybrid setup was not easy. The automaker skillfully utilized the limited space of 125cc scooter by positioning the components such as the lithium-ion battery and the power drive unit (PDU) at 23-litre luggage box and within the front cover respectively. However, the PCX’s traits like its versatility, cosier riding and easy handling will be retained on the PCX Hybrid.

However, the characteristics for which the PCX is known as quietness and quality feel will be retained. The scooter will be featured with two motor-assist modes which are ‘D’ and ‘S’ modes. The former offers the comfortable ride and excellent fuel efficiency. Whereas the latter one meant for sportier riding with the stronger assist.
Based on a high-rigidity double-cradle frame, the PCX scooters get propelling power from a durable, quiet and highly fuel efficient engine. Aesthetically, it is elegant and appealing in terms of look which are offered by the featured all-LED lights and curves flowing from front to the rear.

The PCX which is an expensive offering is not meant for the Indian market. Its debut is also still in darkness. If anyhow, the PCX manages to hit the Indian biking industry, it will go in competition with the likes of the Suzuki Burgman Street 125 that is slated to launch on July 19 this year.
