Honda has recently encountered some problem with the driver -side air bag inflators that were assembled in previous models of City, Jazz and the Civic in India. The company will replace the defective airbag inflators with a new one. However, Honda will be recalling the mentioned cars globally, taking it as a preventive measure against faulty airbag inflators.
In India, this the second time when the automaker is making recall. According to the reports shared by the company, the recall is likely to be carried out for 49, 572 units of the City, 7,504 units of the Jazz and 600 units of the Civic model. The airbags inflators will be replaced at no cost at the Honda service centres. It has been revealed that the affected models lie between the years 2012 to 2013.
The recall procedure will commence from February 20, and the replacements will be done in a feasible manner across different cities of India. Honda India has also requested all the customers to register themselves on the website www.hondacarindia.com by mentioning their respective 17 digit alpha numeric Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
