Hyosung is planning to introduce its most affordable motorcycle, GD250. The firm is currently offering a wide range of products for Indian line-up, which includes both smaller and larger displacement engines. Recently, the quarter-liter GD250R has been spotted in Pune, which will launch by the end of the current fiscal year, whereas its naked version GD250N is also in the row that was unveiled in the 2014 Auto Expo. The Korean motorcycle maker has confirmed the production of the upcoming sports motorcycle in December last year.
It is expected that the quarter-liter motorcycle will make its entry into the country by replacing the existing GT250R. The GD250R and GD250N will be brought in the country via the CKD route. In terms of style, the GD250R has received an aggressive style which carries a massive fuel tank, steeped-cum-split seat, windshield, underbelly exhaust tail and twin headlamps. The motorcycle employs a front upside down forks and a rear mono-shock suspension. In terms of safety, the firm has installed disc brakes at the both ends, where, no ABS is provided even as an option.
In terms of mechanical bits, the Hyosung GD250R is powered by a single-cylinder, air-cooled and 250cc engine cylinder that will directly compete with the KTM RC 200 and Honda CBR250R. The fuel injected engine executes a maximum power of 27.6 BHP at 9500 RPM and 24 NM of torque at 7500 RPM. The engine of GD250R has been configured with Hyosung's most advanced technology which makes it able to produce an outstanding power output and dynamic ride quality. The engine is coupled to a 6-speed transmission.
Apart from this, the Korean two-wheeler maker is working on completely new products to expand its product list for the Indian line-up. Moreover, the price of GD250R would be above INR 1.80 lakhs.
