Following months of speculations, fuelled further by teasers, spy shots, and leaks, the hatchback of the year has arrived just in time before the Diwali countdown starts. The iconic Santro is back in an all-new tall-boy design and AMT, CNG as an option. The all-new Santro will be offered in 5 trim options. These include D-Lite, Era (Rs 4.24 lakh), Magna (Rs 4.57-5.23 lakh), Sportz (Rs 4.99-5.64 lakh) and Asta (Rs 5.45 lakh). True to its previous avatar, the new hatchback will carry a budget price tag this makes the new Hyundai Santro a more than a lucrative buy on this Diwali.

Other top-spec features include steering-mounted controls and power adjustable wing mirrors, rear parking sensors with a reversing camera, a rear wash/wipe, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink compatibility.

Under the hood, the all-new Santro gets dual-tone beige and black cabin as standard. The higher variants do get the green highlights. Further, green Santro models will get an all-black interior, unlike the standard trims. The dashboard in addition to the 2.5-inch multi-info display also houses an instrument cluster with a tachometer for engine updates.
Under the hood, the power duties will rest on the reworked 1,066cc four-cylinder Epsilon engine. Its petrol, version promises 69hp @ 99Nm whereas the CNG fitted trim delivers 59hp and 84Nm. Owners of the new Santro petrol trims will have 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox option to choose from. CNG models only get the former transmission unit.

The Santro in its all-new avatar will sport quite a few safety upgrades. The primary among these being ABS with EBD and a driver’s seatbelt reminder. All trims will also get driver’s side airbag as standard. Top-Spec ASTA variants will come equipped with passenger side airbags too. The CNG variants also get a fire extinguisher as standard.

The features on the D-Lite trim might seem less to many. However, the claimed 20.3kpl mileage for all petrol-manual and petrol-AMT models could be a major sales booster considering the current fuel price index. Last but not least, the CNG variants claim a range of 30.5km on one kg of gas.
